All wild animals are the property of the Great State of California. Is that the rationale???? 'Nuff said.

I'm sure the fish cops look in here from time to time[/b]
I think you ment P_ _ Cop in this case.
Sorry just a punn.
Mike, Go out and find a wet sow. Sneak up on her as close as you can. At a certain point run as fast as you can for the litter. At this point one of three things will happen. You will either find out how much faster than you they can run, how much slower you are than a PO'd defensive mamma, or you will have your new pet. Eitherway it is a lot of fun. But remember, never harass the wildlife.
They are mostly domestic anyway. They call them "wild" so they can regulate and make us pay. Pigs that is. The way I understand it most domestic breeds when forced to live free range after a few generations or several years will start to have a longer snout, squatier honches and taller shoulders. But the law is the law. I know plenty of people who catch them on their property using the method mentioned and raise them for slaughter. Not all domestic meat hogs are pink and hairless. There are hairy breeds of various colors. The pen boars also grow tusks but are usually cliped. I'm not a forenzic scientist but I would like to see a game cop prove that it was a "wild" pig. If It doesn't have Russian genetics it will never stand in court. Not that they won't take you there to find out though.

This is still america and we do have the fredom of speach right?[/b]
Yes it is. That's why I really don't care if everyone doesn't like my humor or my opinions. Words are not illegal unless slanderous. By the way... Most of my family is law enforcement. They would all get a little out of my comment as they have all been called much worse.

NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT. WE CAN KILL IT AND GRILL IT BUT WE CANT SAVE IT?[/b]
you can't put it out of its misery either. A friend was once reported by a passerby and later cited for hitting a crippled deer in the head on the side of the road with a hammer to put it out/down. I was with him. It was my hammer. The deer was draging itself with front legs down the side of the road and creating a traffic hazard and was a hard to watch spectacle. Still... pay or go to jail says the man.

Mike, Are you going to make the move up here?

You can rescue a pet pot belly pig. Go here for a list of rescue organizations. There are several in CA. http://www.pigs4ever.com/links.htm You could actually help a pet pig out, instead of taking a perfectly good suckling pig away from the roaster!
