No problem

Just hate to see someone else get suckered out of hard earned cash. But you are right, maybe leaving it up and having negative reviews will help someone NOT!!! choose him. If they do need a pheasant club then I woould recomend Guns and Roosters!

Yes, last year I also was contacted by DFG about larry the scammer (from Parkfield) and never heard back what the out come was. Obviously he is still out there scamming. My personal experience with him goes back to the 80's and may have changed, but I doubt it.
BEWARE of his so called pheasant club. He has a SMALL piece of property surrounded by very large ranches(which he does not have permission to hunt)and releases canned birds just before you arrive, and the birds don't fly at all. My wirehair pointed them and then just picked them up... He also offered an additional pig hunt on adjoining property that he did not have permission to hunt, which I already knew so I turned him down. Funny thing is he is still only charging $300 for a pig hunt...
The reason why he is not in the slammer, IMHO, is because he never accompanies anyone on these "additional hunts", never sets foot on these added properties and his offerings that have been taken, might place the taker in hot water as well, so no one comes forward to go to court against him...
In fact those that I know that have had dealings with him would not talk to DFG or allow their names be given out.

Last year I sent email about this Larry thief to DFG and was redirected but finally got a thank you email.
Looks like he's back in action - for years evidently.

How about everyone sending a note to DFG with their direct experience, indirect experience, or almost-scammed experience.

This guy doesn't change names, but changes the newspapers where he advertises. Has to be easy to track down.
Likely easier to find than a wild pig.

Come on DFG or local sherrif or police or .... somebody!

Camomedc;

Check out Wilderness Unlimited or Golden Ram private hunting clubs. They are similar in that they lease private ranchs for hunting and fishing. i was a member of WU and might go back I have seen plenty of fresh sign and I have seen two pigs on two different properties. Specmeister belongs to Golden Ram you might want to contact him. I to have hunted with Marty Rovenstine and I blew a nice opportunity on a 200lp plus boar is prices are reasonable. Has mentioned Camp roberts and Ft Hunter Ligget have limited public hunting they both have their own web sites. if you are a vet or know one (who will take you has a guest) you can hunt at Vandenburg AFB.

Good Luck;

Thanks for everyone's help- too bad there are so many out there who have been scammed by Larry.

And thanks for all the great suggestions. I just bought my first gun- a Savage .270. Bought it used and had a gunsmith check it out and have the trigger lowered to 4 lbs. It shoots great- just have to keep practicing and find some way to get exeperience. All the videos and articles can't prepare for an actual hunt and I look forward to getting out doors and bringing home some bacon!

You know, there was a time, right here in the USA, when a man was only as good as his word and folks didn't tolerate liars, cheats, and thieves. A guy like Hamilton would have been run out of the state on a rail, covered in hot tar and chicken feathers. Seriously, that's what really happened and once it did happen, the bum never, ever reappeared. They got the hint, being told at the tar and feather festival that if they ever showed their face again, it would be a necktie party.

Today, of course, you can be a major league rat's ass and get away with murder for decades. And if Larry the Rat's Ass ever does get hauled into court, he'll have an attorney with slicked-down hair, wearing a fancy suit, argue that Poor Ol' Larry was mistreated as a child and not potty-trained until he was 37, hence the misbehavior. If he's convicted, he'll serve 4 hours and 37 minutes in the slammer, just like Paris and her spoiled-rotten brat friends, and then he's out doing it again, cashing our checks and laughing at how stupid we are. And God forbid that an honest, law-abiding citizen, such as you and me, get so fed up with his robberies that we feed him his bicuspids and a couple of molars. We'll get sent away for 30 years.

Now that I'm getting old, I am starting to understand the faraway look in my Grandfather's eyes when he told me, sitting in his recliner chair, smoking a pipe and gazing out at the Colorado Continental Divide, that there was a time, right here in the USA, when a man was only as good as his word.

Times have changed.
