Yes Craig needs to grow up and put his purse down. I would have chosen "the gals on the View should have the final call" had it been an option.

Like others have mentioned, I don't know the whole story here. Speaking for myself, my circle of hunting buddies are real close. More like the three muskateers. All for one, one for all. If anybody from our group tags, we all win. The only thing that should matter when hunting with friends is "who has the cleanest shot". The unwritten rule is whoever sees it first gets the first shot. After that, it's every man for himself. Whether its me, my brother, or father-n-law; which ever guy drops the animal, they are getting congradulated with high fives and chest bumps. I know it sounds corny, but that's how we do it. It sounds like to me like you are looking for hunting partners who feel like it's a team effort, and not about being selfish. Good luck on what ever you decide. Tough call.........Remember, jelously has no business with friends, family, and hunting buddies.

That's the way it should be, especially on public land.

Amen, group effort

If it were me and my friend? I would give him a front leg and tell him to buck up and get the sand out of his panties.

I offered him some or even most of the meat, but he said he didn't care about the meat, and he stalked off.

What a wuss. Sounds like a girly-man to me. He didn't care about the meat? Uh, see ya! I get more excited when my buddies kill something. Sounds like you are the same kinda guy. You tried everything to get that guy on a hog. Find a new buddy.

Craig has a very self-serving attitude and..............as an immature person that he is..............it will not be the first and it will not be the last that he will show his immaturity. It is best to avoid such people where you will always be walking on eggshells...........it is like walking on pins and needles. You don't need the aggravation..............especially since hunting is a RECREATION and NOT A JOB that gives you a paycheck and livelihood. On the job, I could put up with ornery people.......but in hunting, especially since the primary purpose is to relax and let loose and just enjoy your free time in the outdoors.............you don't need the complications of emotionalism and childish mindset.

:lol bashing sign: I lol each time I read this. craig needs to get a grip and practice. you probably need another partner. I had an experience like yours long time ago when LS was a draw hunt we drew the shot gun hunt and I borrowed one that was better than mine but didn't practice enough. found some hogs 60 yrd shot shoulder to shoulder, I said you first and at the sound I'll go, he hits, I miss, we track his find it, pack it out (together) high fiven and all that, public pig success everyone is happy and shares the thrill of the hunt. it's not just who kills.

For me hunting is sacred. Anything or anybody who detracts from my experience will not be tolerated. Having a bad day due to a stuck/broken down truck is one thing. Having a bad day due to a hunting partner who is a little bitch ain't gonna happen. I'd have to let him know I didn't give a damn if he was upset because he wouldn't be hunting with me again...ever.

I think Craig needs to slip into his pink Snuggy and settle in for an evening of watching Dancing with the Stars...not that I watch that or anything.

He isn't a hunter and I'd leave him behind next time. He's not a person I'd want out in the field with me, and he certainly isn't a hunting buddy. I'd consider him weeded out.

You should do one of two things. Make him your hunting dog and tell him to hike through certain areas while you wait at the other side of the drainage. Ooorrr, you can drop the whiney little baby and take me there.:p:):lol bashing sign:

Hey, that guy sounds like a girl and he is to selfish to even see that you gave him several opportunities to shoot. Find a hunting buddy with your character and ability and you'll be a lot happier. The law of the land I come from has always been 1st to see shoots without waiting.

It's a defence mechanism, rationalizing that it was anything except his own poor performance, thus maintaining his ego. Unfortunately it helps him to reproduce.

Buy him a book on on how to shoot better. That will cheer him up.

Sound like your "friend" needs some glasses, some time at the range and an adjustment to his tude. You gave him first shot and he missed twice. You sound like a patient gentleman and sportsman. I would have shot one the first pigs, then laughed at him because he didn't even see them. From then on he would be known as Mr. Magoo. The next time we went out I might even bring a cane with the tip painted to give him. I hope your pig tastes good.
