What am I doing wrong?

This past hunting season I took pictures of at least 10 different bucks with a trail cam. The last couple of weeks I went to where the deer winter to look for sheds and searched for at least 10 hrs and have not found a single shed. I walked entire corn fields, I walked deer runs in the woods next to the fields, I have looked in bedding areas. I have seen 25 deer in these fields that I am looking in. What can I do to improve my shed hunting? I know there are lots of bucks around.

Are you sure the deer have dropped?I've seen 5 different buck still carrying in my last couple hunts.
If you think they've dropped already.Break your area down in sections and give each section a grid pattern search.Make your passes close and cover everything.
If you still don't find sheds extend your search area out further.Good luck!!

And another thought too,someone else could have beat you to the dropped horns too,happens here all the time.............It's a big practice anymore

With 10 bucks in your area there has to be 20 sheds. Keep looking they are there somewhere. The best of luck to you.

rungunner, welcome to my world. After surfing shed hunting sites for the past 2 years or so and running my own, I have come to believe Michigan is the worst state in the US for sheds. Why? I don't know, it's a very strange phenomenon. It affects me too, as anyone who keeps up with my posts here can testify to.

I still keep at it though, hopefully one of these days it'll click and I'll start picking em up left and right. That's really all that seems I can do. Get out there as often and look for as long as possible.

I've learned from others this year that sometimes -- if you can afford it -- patience is a virtue. If you go into an area too early after maybe you've seen only a couple have dropped, you may blow the bucks right the heck out and never find the sheds.

Although it's never easy, and it does take A LOT OF WALKING.
