What an Awesome Day!

Put a few miles on this past saturday, got sunburn on my arms and blisters on my feet.

but more importantly I found 9 great sheds! 6 mulies and 3 whitetails. 2 of the whitetails were a matched set about 4 years old but are 2 of the bigger whitetail shed I've found this year.

Great looking sheds. 120 sheds for the year is awesome. I'm sitting at a grand total of 4 so far. I've been talking to some ranchers in the area and they are still seeing the bigger bucks still hanging on their antlers. I'll be heading out again for a look tomorrow before going back to school to finish up. After that, I'll have more time to go looking.

Pred, what a great year, I have only found about a 1/2 doz for the year, Where do you find the best places to look are??? I'm sure I have wore out a pair of boots this year and was in areas that held big populations??? Any hints would be helpful.

I'd ask if you were saving the best for last,but no doubt your season is far from being over,lol
120 sheds and more shedhunting to go is awesome!!Do you know many many Wt sheds verse mulie sheds you have?And which would you rather walk up on?

Not sure how much more I'll get to do this year. I've got a busy May (work wise), moving into a new house and a bear hunt planned for the end of may. I'm sure I'll get out once or twice more, but that's probably it. I'm extreemly happy with 120!

I found more mulie sheds this year than whitetail. last year it was the opposite. Most of the time in the area I shed hunt there is an equal chance at finding both at anytime. I'd much rather any whitetail over a mulie.

Bearboy - Make sure you spend most of your time in key wintering areas. Some areas may have had lots of animals in late summer, fall and early winter but those may not be the same areas they winter and shed in. Also, bucks hang out together in the winter much like they do in late summer early fall. If you find one shed there should be more in the general area.
