To get a new post going –

1) What African animal would you like to hunt if money, time, or place was not a factor?

2) What African animals do you plan on hunting in the future?

Same as OT, but make mine a Sable instead of a Kudu.

1. Bongo, Lord Derby Eland
2. Sable, Buffalo, Red & Blue Duiker, Suni, another Oribi and Nyala, Limpopo Bushbuck, Southern Greater Kudu over 58 inches. I guess anything of opportunity.

Gemsbok, nyala, sable, gazelle, lechwe, redbuck? I have heard from friends in New Mexico that the gemsbok, or oryx is the best eating meat on the planet. I would like to have a mounted nyala head. Other than that, stories say that when one is on safari, they choose from the animals that present themselves in the particular area where they are. Its not like you have this shopping list of animals and check them off and you drive to them and get them.

I know zilch about what are considered trophies and zilch about which ones are most prized or expensive to hunt.

But I would say Cape Buffalo, Sable, then either an Eland or a Kudu.

I'll probly never have the means to hunt anywhere outside of the midwest.

1. Lion and Bongo lead the list, but it includes every other species that walks the continent.
2. Every huntable species that walks the continent. (I dream big!)

Cape Buffalo, Hippo, Lion, Kudu.

Don't know if I will ever get there, but these have always interested me.

The Kudu is an awesome animal.
Headed over there in Aug. and looking for a Kudu. Going to a wedding in SA and the kudu would be the wedding day dinner. Can't wait.
What an opportunity!
Can't wait! I said that already. But i can't wait!

The kudu feed and move about only in the early morning hours, the late afternoon or deep into the night, making them even harder to spot. During the heat of the day they rest in bushy thickets.

The white chevron between his velvety eyes and the white area around his mouth give character to his dark face. Running down his neck, shoulders and back is a short, white mane. His head is crowned with two triple twisted horns that gracefully spiral upward and outward.
