Hello everyone, i hunt south A Zone pretty hard every deer season and sometimes i get in pretty thick areas ( south A Zone hunters know) and sometimes i dont come home till late at night. What gps unit is a decent one to get. Something someone can track on thier phone when im way out of cell service so they can keep an aye on me incase of an emergency. Some thing that can track me. Ive seen one thread that an inreach is pretty good. Any help would be great, thankyou

I use the inReach Mini and it works well. You can set it for time between pings. My wife can get on her lap top and see the ping trail I'm making and see where I am at. You can also send texts, which I don't do much.
A few years back my granddaughter was hiking the high sierra and going to summit Whitney and come out at Whitney Portal after the 8 day hike. Well It was on fire around there. We texted back and forth as I kept up on the latest info. She was using her inReach. They had to change there exit plans and she arranged for a vehicle pick up .... all using her inReach for texting.
