Tom Willoughby out of King City. First hunted with him in 84', then again last year. Great hunts both times. He knows the pigs habits and where to find plenty of them. 1st hunt we saw nearly 150 pigs in 2 1/2 days, second hunt we saw 48 pigs in 6 hours. 10-12 of those were shooters. My partner and I both had 170lb. pigs down by 11 AM the first day...........Erich. Hunterjohn where ya been?
I'm 3 for 3 with Nesson Schmidt out of King City. In the same 3 years our large group is 37 for 35. Most of us could have easily taken more than one hog. Hardest working guides I've ever been around.
I haven't used a guide in years, but I am going on a hunt with Wild Hog Adventures out of Hollister the weekend of June 7-9. The ranch I hunt won't let me bring guests, and I had a bunch of buddies from another forum that wanted to go on a hog hunt. So we worked a great deal with Charles "Chopper" Snyder that is an unguided hunt, but provides access to his ranch. He's had great success so far this year. We'll see if it holds out for us. I make nothing off this and I pay for my hunt like the rest. I'm an admin at "the other forum" so I helped set the hunt up is all.
Boaring Experiences is a great service, too. A guide for them frequents this forum, so you'll probably hear from him. I'll be up in Parkfield this weekend.
My vote is for Frank Morasci of Mustang Guide Service. This guy and his crew are awesome. He has access to over 150000 acres and our group of 6-8 has always tagged out over the last several years. He only charges $400 (no trophy fees) for a weekend hunt. Best of all he is a good, honest guy and fun to hunt with.
