What is the customary gratuity given to the guide for a successful hunt?

Thanks!

10%+ of the hunt cost. Maybe a bit more for exceptional service.

The simple two word answer is "It depends." Some would say 15%, some have a fixed amount, but the reality is you tip what you think is right and what you can afford. How much effort did the guide put out, how were you treated during the hunt, was the guide on time, game care (if part of the guide fee).

My guide owns the land he guides on. I do the game processing (he will skin as part of the hunt) and typically a hunt will be the 1st and last 2 hours of light. I don't feel compelled to tip heavy, but he does get something.

Basically tip what you think is appropriate for the level of service you received.
