whats in season?

Im taking my hunters class this sunday. Just wondering whats in season to hunt and if theres any places in so cal to go. Just wanna go out there and check some places out and get a feel for it. been looking for sites to tell me whats in season. im orignaly getting my lic. to hunt pig

redkind, where are you?, California? Pig is a year round season so when you get your license and a pig tag you are ready to go. Jackrabbit is an all-year season too, I cant think of any other species, but someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Wild turkey will be opening March 31. Other than that this is a good time of year to start figuring out where you're going to hunt and scout places out, or go fishing.

buy a rifle or shotgun for hunting or even both. depending on what you want to hunt. If you are hunting pig I suggest buying something in a 270 or higher caliber rifle. Pigs have a armor plating on there shoulder that most small caliber rifles cant go through.

Yes sir it is. I'm wanting a ar15 aswell

ar15s are fun you can build them in many different calibers. for instance 7.62, 556, 9mm, 40s&w, 45, 6.8, 6.5 grendel, and a few others they keep making new mods to make them work in different calibers. all you have to do is press out two pins and change the upper and you have a whole new gun. Plus the accessories wow the accessories lol

The mossin is a good gun. It's sometimes hard to find soft tipped ammo for it. Are you gonna put a scope on it or shot iron sights.
