I have seen pigs early in the morning where I hunt, but havnt seen any in the evening. I keep hearing that pigs are nocturnal, but what time do they come out at night?? And will I have better luck in the evening or the morning??

it's been my experience that hogs move at all times of the day..........depending on the hunting pressure.......at the club I hunt the hogs move mainly at night when the pressure is up......right now I'm seeing several hogs on my place comming out right at dusk....and one sow and piglets comming out around 4 in the afternoon....their kind of like people.....when it gets hot they head to the shade....location is probably more an issue than time....with this heat and lack of water I'd head to a water hole and watch...

Here's a pic of a sow taken at 3:30 in the afternoon:

and a boar taken at 7:30....both pics were taken tuesday:

Ditto on what birdDawg said, most of the bigger game animals are nocturnal out of necessity, so obviously you will see more in the early morning, late afternoon. In the mornings, sometimes light will sneak up on them and they will still be out feeding, they might be a little more slow on moving in the evening. BUT, and this is a big BUT, they do move during the day. And the answer to your question is the best time to go pig hunting is anytime you can, you will always have a better chance at getting one out in the field, then you will watching the outdoor channel in your living room.

what everyone else said.

and an other note, I have taken hogs almost very hour of the day. But once it gets hot you have bust some brush to find them. In fact 2 years ago I shot one while it was asleep, I first thought it was dead but upon closer examination I noticed it was breathing and thats when I shot it.

At night time I find that animals are out in full force between midnight and 3am, those are the times the game cams I have take the most pictures.

I like the early morning, they're still out feeding and you can catch them heading back into their bedding areas. But, for me, all the hogs I have taken (10) have been between the hours of 10:00am and noon.
