Whats the big deal

Hogs and and more hogs whats so great about the hogs are they hard to hunt out in CA or something is there a season I dont get it here in ohio they want them eraticated nothing but pest no season no rules no limit and so on ........you guys have me puzzled ......so talk me into it or something i just dont get it. I wana know it all fellas teach me oby one

If you are a hunter, you will love hog hunting. It's a bit like deer hunting. The season is open all year long, which is great when all the other seasons are closed. They make excellent tablefare. They are extremely challenging to hunt on public land. They can be tough to hunt on private land as well. Throught the years, I've killed a dozen or so with the rifle. A few years ago, I switched to the bow. Trying to get within bow range makes it more challenging, which is more fun for me. It's hunting. They area not running all over the place. It's not a slam dunk. It's hunting. Their nose is a foot long. If they get a whif of you, they disappear. They hear pretty well, so you have to be quiet. If you can stay down wind, and make a quiet stalk, you can get into bow range. It's hunting. It's Fun.

I have a passion to hunt. Not once in a while, but all the time. Wild hogs can be hunted all year round. Not by the hunters choice, but the DFG, they are a game animal. That is why there is regulations. Because they are popular they are a source of revenue for the state. There is no other big game animal you can hunt all year. Pigs can be hunted all hunting types. From spot and stalk, blinds, all the way to pursuing them with dogs. So they attract more types of hunters than any other animal. For those that have no choice but to hunt with a guide, the prices are much more reasonable than other game. It some areas the population of pigs offer higher success rates. They can be tougher to hunt in some areas, depending on access, and terain.

There is nothing to get. Either its for you or it is not. I do not get living in flat frozen tundra, part of the year. But hey its not for everyyone.

i think archery and hogs are a match made in heaven. one track spelled it out perfectly.

they are super challenging, argueably the best tasting animal to hunt, hard to find (in cal, in my experience), and add a tiny sprinkle of danger...GREAT FUN.

i have only killed two. texas, hiding near a corn flinger. it was still hard. those things are wily.

Hmm, I'll try to be nice. There is as much to "get" about hunting hogs as there is to "get" about hunting whitetails out of a tree.

It's all hunting and it's all fun. Case closed.

i used to be a hard core whitetail hunter when i lived back east, well thats changed, bowhunting freaking wild hogs out west now with the element of danger tops whitetail hunting to me now and way more challenging! when is the lat time you were charged by a whitetail, think about it!........tra
