This is killing me. I just got my paperwork for the Owen's Valley Elk Archery Hunt. I'm Alternate #2. I'm thinkin' I'd be better off not drawing at all. What are the chances that 2 out of 5 tag holders will die or drop out? Not good is my assessment. If I was the first alternate, I'd treat it like a real tag and scout like no tomorrow.

So close, and yet so far.

OT hang in there!! I would still take being an alternate next to nothing. You do have a chance (micro). I have some bad news for you though. I know one of the tag holders and I know he is not giving it up. I suggest we find the others (4 & first alternate) and work them over. It worked for Tanya Harding! I'm praying for you.

I think you should make friends with them, you know, get all the tag holders to go shark fishing with you on your buddy's boat, and those that don't chum, I meant come, can go over to your house for a pool party, after everyone is slashed, I mean sloshed, you can have a pool filling party, should only need about 18 concrete trucks.

Ed, dont quite understand why lots of folks did not draw deer tags. We drew 1 tag in the whole family here. Really this is a pretty poor deer unit.

The way i understand it to work is that you put your 3 choices. If you first choice is all drawn then they give you your second choice and so on.

Possibly with the drought they cut back the tags (that would make to much sense though).
