I ask this 'cause I will be hunting in the Fall. Last year I hunted Summer and it was 103* and made every hike a tough one but I did get 2 hogs so..
Our hunt was planned for May but one of our group is headed to Iraq(God bless him) and another is expecting a new child at that time so we switched it to Oct. I was told buy a few that it was a good time but not as good as May. I quess we will see. I will be using a new gun so now I just have more time to shoot before the hunt. It's a .358JDJ G2 Contender, quite a kicker, so more shooting time is better.
Troggy... October should be fine. Like most of the others here, I prefer to hog hunt as much and often as possible, regardless of season. Each segment of the year has pros and cons.
Nice new toy, by the way. Should do the trick on a nice boar.
Nice gun Troggy. I've been seeing alot more hogs out during the day now that it is cool and wet out. I think that fall, winter, and early spring at "least in the places I've hunted" is the best time. You can find hogs year around but when it gets hot not only is it harder for us to hunt, the hogs tend to bed during the day.
