hey yall I've always wanted to hunt pig but ca doesn't have the largest amount of pig filled public lands. does anyone have a suggestion for where I can hunt pig in public land? anywhere in the state aside from FHL

+1 This topic starts up once again once it gets on page 2 of this forum. Every page in the past usually has the same topic "new guy looking for a place to hunt", "where to go for public land hogs" ect.

Actually I would guess CA ranks towards the top as far as pig field public land. Mainly because there is a ton of public land in the state. Regional DFG offices are a good place to start. Some of the biologist will be more than happy to help you. Public land hogs are hard to pin down, nobody on here is going to give up their secret spot! You might want to take a look at the records on the number of hogs that are taken in each county every year. That will help you narrow it down.

for sure I'll give it a try and absolutley I wouldn't give up my honey holes ii was just looking fr a start I've hunted coalinga mineral springs but all the sign was a good month or so old looked like they migrated trough to all the private property out there

If you're hunting Coalinga you can't be too far from me. I got some decent pig grounds 30 minutes from my house. Depending on where you live and me moving out of state sometime next year I prolly wouldn't mind showing you around. I usually only pig hunt when the ground is wet though.
