I have searched and seached for a tripod set up. I recently have just went to a tripod set up this year. Now I use a tripod for 80% of my glassing for pigs, deer & bear. I didnt want to pay a high price for a tripod so I went to my local camera shop and looked at what they had to offer. I found a velbon tripod (12 inches, extends to 48 inches and only weighs a little over 2lbs). For the weight and the compactness it fits my budget and inside my hunting pack. I also got the "Quick Disconnect" for the tripod. The qucik disconnect fits my 12x50's like a glove and sets up in just a few seconds. The tripod is awesome. I can set it up on any terrain at any angle and I can glass hillsides for long periods of times. I also would recommed a tri-pod with a crank. It will adjust to your height when you are sitting down and it makes things much easier. Here's a pic

i was looking at the exact tripod you were looking at...a buddy of mine who i had had the chance of hunting with, told me that bogen is the best tripod you can get....wich is the same as manfrotto...anyways he has told me that they were built much better than the camera tripods that you find at the walmarts or k-marts...he has had those cheaper ones before and has said that the small parts on them will break after a while...he alos own a bogen which is a little bigger than the model you were looking at, and it is rock solid, much better than the one i had bought from walmart some time ago...i only use mine for my chronograph but might get the bogen very soon...
