i hope you enjoy Photoblink. I shoot a Canon Powershot S40. I just started into photography, I shoot anything that I find interesting, I like old barns and railroad bridges. My member name is Kary at photoblink if you want to see some of my photos I've submitted.

Take care,

I have a question for you. On your camera, with the 1.7 added on, do you still have have all of your camera functions, such as the auto focus? I have an EagleEye 5x that I put on my Oly C-3000, but it makes the autofocus nearly useless unless I do specific things.
I'm interested in a Nikon D-100, which is an SLR with interchangeable lenses, but I'm concernd about what happens with all those cool functions if I put my non-Nikon lenses on it.

Hi Annie,

when I attach the 1.7 tele lens, I still have autofocus and all of the funcitons that I would have without the tele attached. About the only handicap the 1.7 tele gives is that you can't zoom all the way back. You will see the sides of the tele lens if you zoom back. That is not unreasonable though, I dont see where I would attach a zoom and then zoom all the way back.

As far as the D-100, from what I have heard that is a nice camera. As far as using your existing lenses, Im really not sure. I am pretty sure that you can get the different lenses and still be able to auto focus. Ummmm I think you might have to get specific lenses that auto focus will work on though. Im not sure but I think that is the way I understand it. You may already be aware of it, but there is a good digital photography website called dpreview.com that has some very informative forums. Your question may be ansered there.

To make sure, you may want to post your question on the dpreview nikon forum. Im sure someone can give you an answer there. Good luck.

great pics Chris. I am waiting on the dslr's to go down in price so I can afford one. I have a Nikon 35mm slr and I love it. hopefully next year price will get down to around 500 or so and I will be able to make myself buy one.

Thanks for the info on your lens; I've heard of dpreview, I'll go over there. My 5x causes some vignetting, more so if you stop it down, and you see the inside the lens if you pull it back at all. For the price, though, it's pretty impressive. I do have to set it to center focus in order to get the autofocus to work at all, but still that's one heck of a lot better than trying to focus manually!!!

By the way, impressive photos. The first two are really nice; really pleasing to look at. I gauge a photo by whether or not I'd want to look at a large version of it hanging on a wall, and those fit the bill. I'm especially impressed with your depth of field and good focus; VERY NICE!!!!
