We ended up taking the biggest boar so far until Saturday evening from Friday morning... Took this bad boy down 80 yards 7 mag 150 grain around 4.30 pm.... For people saying oh Camp Roberts does not have any pigs or they have all been shot by the military that's not true... Even if it is I saw more pigs then I ever did so far on public land... Happy Hunting too all....

By the way, we didn't say there was no pigs at Camp Bob. My crystal ball said that hunters were told in the briefing orientation that military personnel have been hunting them since last October and they have been hiring trappers to trap them while the base was closed for hunting. That doesn't mean there are no pigs in the base. It means they are not as thick as people think they should be.

I had a good few conversations with the commander over there and trust me having Camp Roberts closed for 3 years or so was the best thing they did so far... Besides getting this big old boar we saw even bigger ones far out over 700 yards but when saturday came along there were too many hunters driving and making noise but hech what can you do right? Its public land hunting... haha.... This is the 7th pig we took out of camp roberts so far

I agree closing the base for 3 years was a good thing. But hiring trappers to deal with the pigs while closed for hunting was a waste of our tax $$.

Oldest trick in the book is for hunters to say "X animal around here were all killed/driven away by X" to get the hunting spot to themselves. Or put out road closed signs etc. Just ignore em. Remember, there are no pigs on public land!
