I hear ya.. Its not like buying a $150 camera anymore. These ones' set you back a little more..
If and when we hook up, your welcome to shoot away to see if you like it. I really do like the feel and layout of the controls and still recomend the camera. I definately am growing into it still as far as the picture quality. I will get it figured out eventually.

Keep researching between the several models you like. There are some good write ups online too. Even when I was reading reviews on the last 2 cameras my list was down to, some of the reviews are pretty "honest". Sometimes they sounded like they were nit picking but at least it was there for you to read and be aware of. Pretty cool resource. Then I hammered the guys at local camera places to see if they knew more than I did after recently reading. Some of the sales guys were pretty helpful.

Santa was very nice to me this year. Under my tree I found a Cannon PS2 SI. Been playing with it around the house and the yard. Can't wait to get out into the woods with it and try some wildlife shots.
It is cool that is is a mid-range camera. I didn't want to spend a $1K on a camera until I am more confident with them. This one can be modified so that you can add lenses to it down the road. I think it will suit me just fine.

Very cool. I found a very slightly used S1 on Ebay and got it in the mail yesterday. Like you, Big Dog I can't wait to use it outdoors! I'm sure you'll be happy with the S2.
