We have a group of six for the south side hunt in March 2012...paid $450.00 each, plus the $13.00 insurance fee. This is a rifle hunt. Haven't seen one advertised for $550.00 except on here.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it's $550 + $13 ins for private groups under 25 people (maybe 20?). The $450 is for the general pig management hunt (which usually has more than 25 people) or private groups with 25 participants or greater. This group only has 8 spots, which means better access and less pressure for that weekend. Good luck to everyone who's going.

That could be the reason for the price discrepancy. I'm hunting the south side pig management hunt, not a private group per se. I've only ever hunted the management hunts, which I believe allows 50 hunters on for the weekend hunts. I've hunted the ranch five times previously and have pulled pigs off four times. The first time I went I had my chances but decided to hold out for a larger pig and never saw another pig that weekend.

Fifty hunters may seem like a lot but I have never run into other hunters while on these management hunts. The amount of huntable land on Tejon is amazing. Tons of space for everyone to spread out.

Good luck to everyone.

Isn't Tejon closed for long tail management or should I say staff mgmt?

Well guys for all of you who missed out on this hunt I'm sorry it was epic... Pigs were everywhere we had 9 hunters and came home with 8 pigs. 2 were lost to the ravine gods or something...
