My wife dropped our Fuji S20 Pro camera and broke it. I had placed it on top of the stroller at Disneyland. She moved a blanket and the camera went flying the lens broke the screen cracked and the camera is shot. I know that warranty is out of the question but do you think it would take more to replace the camera then fix it? Should I send it in for repair? Is there a point where a camera is a throw away item $$$$ wise 100 200? This was a 500 dollar camera?

Maverick, Not sure about Fuji but Kodak sucks. We donated a Kodak camera to a local church fundraiser. She won the camera at auction. Took it home brought it back to us and said it was dead out of the box. I called Kodak the directed me to their repair center. Mailed the camera in after about 4 weeks they finally got back with me and said it looked like something had been spilt inside the camera and they would not warrenty it. The repair cost they gave me was $20 more than a brand new camera would have cost me. I argued with them till I was blue in the face as the lady swore she didn't spill anything on it and the box was sealed when it left my shop. Go Figure. I sucked it up and gave her a new camera, but have cut back on purchasing the Kodaks for resale.

My Nikon 4300 bounced off the concrete at the Magic Kingdom back in Jan. I thought I was going to have a heart attack. Just freakin dropped it. Luckily it bouced and nothing broke. It is a little scratched on one of the corners but that is all.

I just got my Olympus 2100 back after the housing got cracked by the media card door. I don't know how it got cracked, it was after flying on a trip but I had it in my carry on which I baby and it's in a big cushy case.

I authorized $200 for repair and they charged $195.

You have to figure a new cam will be warrantied for a year so it's almost a toss up.
