I haven't seen this book, but I have heard it mentioned. Can't recall the context, but after reading the description and the claims on the website you posted, I'd definitely say caveat emptor... be VERY aware.

We tell you where and how to hunt on private land or with a guide and get your wild boar (almost) for sure[/b]

Well, DUH! If you hunt private land or with a guide, your odds are already increased immensely over the success of public land hunters.

There, I saved you 10.95.

Honestly, if you do decide to kick out for the book, please do report back to JHP and let us know if it's worth it. Personally, I'd stick with Bob Robb's great book, and do the rest of my learning in the field.

It used to be that the author of the book provided an electronic copy which one could download for free. I have such a copy, which I downloaded in 1995. I guess if one is a total novice wannabe pig hunter, it contains some useful information on the habits of pigs, where they were being taken in the early 1990's, and contact information for a number of landowners and guides. Having read Bob Robb's book-- I just gave a copy of the recent edition to a friend-- I would second the recommendation of the other poster(s) and tell you to go with Bob Robb's book.

Just my $0.02

If it is the one I think it is, I paid/downloaded it a while ago. Didn't learn anything that I already didn't know. In some ways, a LOT like Bob Robbs book "Hunting wild boar in California".

Basically, for most part, says that public land hunting sucks. But you already knew that.

However, for a beginner, both books give you a general idea of where to hunt, and what's out there.

Contrary to many of the catchy titles/descriptions such as "where to hunt on public lands, etc..." which imply that the content includes some secret hot-spots, they basically point out the general public land hunting areas (which I already knew/hunted, and probably you do too).

The real "hot spot" is on private lands.... But you knew that too!!!!
