Just thought I'd start a new thread about the April hunt in case we want to plan anything. We always end up with way too much food. If you plan on bringing food that is more than for just your dinner it might be good to post up so we don't get 8 guys all bringing "meat for 8" for 3 dinners.

What time are you all planning on arriving at Choppers?? I just got the OK from work to take Thursday and Friday off. The wife also gave me a hall pass so it looks like I will be getting there at the "planned" time of 8pm on Wednesday.

Food wise, I hadn't planned on anything yet. I figure that lunches and breakfasts we will all be on our own as usual. I know Bubba usually brings a meal or two of amazing meat for everyone. I'll plan on bringing side dishes or something for that meal. Anyway just thinking out loud to see what everyone else is bringing.

I will also be stopping at a local cigar store. The old Cuban dude that runs it hand rolls all his own cigars and gives them a little spray of his magic concoction for flavor and to keep them moist. They are really nice cigars if anyone wants me to grab some for them too. Just say how many and what size you normally like.

Since your coming up Wed. night. Here is my plan.

Not planning to cook Wed. night. Just drink, Crown and diet-Pepsi

Thursday Night: Carne Asada, Flour Tortillas. This should be ebough to fill you guys up.

Friday Night: Chicharones, there might be enough to fill you up ( a few taco each). So if someone wants to throw somehting in extra, be my guest.

You can drop 'em by the ranch house and exchange 'em for hunt credits.

I will have to save the Carnitas for the May hunt. It sucks I have to leave saturday.

I just had a thought. My dad owns a bar, I just might be able to get some good prices on Crown. Mybe I will put on a standing order for 1 liter a week to be delivered to Birds and Boars (for storage

Oh man, that sucks. I had it real bad when I was 22. Double pnumonia and was laid up for almost a month and lost almost 40 pounds. When you are an 180 pound kid, losing 40 pounds is a real noticible event !!! I have also had it more mild a couple of times since, you will always be more succeptible going forward. Good luck on the recovery !! I clearly remember the shot in the butt cheek too. Real thick and cold. The nurse was just grinding it in to work it around. Hurt soo bad I thought I was gonna deck her if she didn't stop

Well it's official, I am starting to get a little more excited for this hunt **understatement **. I even modified the ringer on my cell phone with 3 new custom ring tones. My wife is starting to think I have gone bonkers for sure this time. A turkey gobble rings if you are in my address book. A hen call if you are not and a pig sqealing if your caller ID is blocked. Sure makes for interesting looks when the phone goes off in meetings, especially if I don't know who is calling

So are we on our own for breakfast and lunch? If not I can make a mean breakfast/brunch...omeletes, huevos rancheros, papa's, etc. I'll bring some tamales and enchalades to add to Bubba's grub Thursday & Friday night and I could also do Baby back ribs for Saturday night. Let me know, I do not mind doin some cookin.

Breakfasts tend to be a little scattered, some folks hunt all day, dark to dark. Others come and go at different times. For me since I will be chasing turkeys I probably won't make it back to the cabin until about 1pm then head back out by 3. Plus breakfasts before light tend to be quick and dirty with most folks still hung over and trying to get into the woods quickly

The ribs sound good to me. So thats's Thursday, Friday and Saturday mostly covered with main dishes. We just need sides, I'll bring some.

Tell you all what I'll bring bacon, eggs, milk, butter and olive oil for everyone. Maybe someone who is more picky than me about coffee could bring a bunch. Just dosn't make sense for everyone to bring certain things and then have 8 cartons of milk for example.

I'm down to bring some sides. Lets see...Chips and salsa for the mexican food lovers. I'll bring some store bought potato salad for the ribs night. I'm not feelin' up to cookin' much but I can stack a mean grocery cart full of junk food!

Goin' to try and pull a bowstring tonight, I could barely open the peanut butter this morning. We'll see how a 66# bow goes! I haven't shot since last Thursday!
