I keep coming back to this thread just to read that story and look at those pictures again and again.
A.S. I don't know what you do for a living but you might consider sending that story to the American Archer or one of them Bowman magazines or something.
All in all I find it to be an uplifting story with a wonderful positive spin that has a happy ending. Even if you dont ever try to get published just keep posting here

Franklin3, here's another story for ya:
May 2004
As darkness approached, i couldn't help but think that any moment the hogs would show up, after all they've been to this same spot for the past 2 evenings to feed. Just as that thought passed, i spotted a lone black pig some 80 yards away starring in my direction, i knew the wind was good & that he couldn't see me from my elevated stand. He slowly approached on a trail that would take him some 15 paces from my stand. As he closed the gap, another and what seemed to be larger brown boar approached from the same direction. I figured today was my lucky day, two boars within 20 yards. Yeah, as i sat there patting myself on the back for what great fortune i have, i now had to figure out which on i wanted to take. I knew these pigs weren't going anywhere, but soon realized the brown boar seemed to be a bit larger in the body and his tusks a tad longer....so what the hell, i couldn't go wrong w/ either. I pulled the bow back, anchored, put the pin on the slightly quartering to boar and at 20 yards pulled the trigger....whack!! It sounded like a baseball bat hit that boar, he ran 40 yards, stopped, took a look back and walked away......as he was walking i replayed the events in my head, quartering to.......wrong shot! As the pig walked out of sight, i could see my 2" of arrow penetration (that'd be 25" of arrow sticking out of the pig). I hit his shoulder bone head on & it stopped the arrow dead....the pig however healed completely only to meet his fate by another hunter at Choppers.....the bad news; as chopper was helping skin this hog, he managed to reach all the way up into the chest cavity, only to come back w/ a hand full of blood...his own.
Got my broadhead back & chop got a nice scar.

Nice Pig, good to see you guys are whacking some of those critters. Looking forward to getting back down there in June and trying to get some kills on video. How many guys were in your party or did you head down by yourself. Any other hogs killed? Keep up the good work

What do you mean, you'll just walk out the cabin, knock an arrow draw back and pick which hog you want that WILL be walking by you (about 7 yards)...
