Anybody see it? This was the guy who shot the cow in the impact area 12B last fall. I remember the wardens talking about this when I was on my cow hunt so it would have been the hunt over Thanksgiving. They wardens drove a truck out to get the cow, crazy stuff with all that UXO out there. They cited the guy but let him keep the cow. He claimed he was just turned around and didn't realize where he was. Road was open etc. If you've ever hunted FHL there are some spots and areas that are not marked real well.

Ive been pulled over before by that game warden for speeding, nice guy let me go with a warning. I thought it was nice of him to let the hunter keep the elk.

I was wondering how did he draw the tag. Where does one apply? Jessie, did you get yours?

Loved the previous episode, best one thus far.

My friend was on drill at FHL last week and met the 2 assigned wardens. Good to know he made 2 new friends. They even shot a pig for the Nat. Guard and gave them a BBQ. Real cool.

I saw the show and thought it was funny with the slap of the hand and sending off the meat with the old hunter. They said it was a base near Monterey tho so I am confused. It was dark and I couldn't tell one base from the other. Love the show but it is getting a little slow and boring. Best part this episode was saving the old mans dog after a rattler bite.

Ya, thought that dog was a real gonner, surprised he lived and seemed to recover very quickly after just 24 hours, guess dogs dont tissue damage as do humans.

My dog was bit in the face a couple years back. Other than some gnarly swelling, he didn't look like he was on the outs like that dog. Took him a lot longer to recover though.

Thought that was pretty good the Warden let the guy keep the elk. You can generally tell a dirt bag from a decent person. Seemed as though the guy just fudged. Expensive lesson learned.

My guess is they let him keep the Elk because this "bassackward" state doesn't have a food bank program. The meat would have gone to waste. The Warden did the right thing.

I was there a few after it happened for the Period 3 bull hunt and they talked all about this. They said they let him keep it because he fessed up right away and wasn't trying to "get away" with anything. They also said the hunter was a federal judge and a CDFG commissioner, so that may have played into it as well.
