Hey Hogbutt,
I went in Oct. and hunted with his outfit along with a bunch of guys from this Website and had a great time. It was my first big game hunt and i scored my first pig on the first full day of the hunt. I had great time and the ranches he hunts on are in a great area. We did a spot and stalk hunt and i did most of the work after the kill; skining, gutting, butchering....mainly because i wanted to expiernce it for myself. but i listened to a lot of his stories of him taking out clients and I dont think there isn't anything this guy wouldn't do to get someone on a hog, just listening to him i think he would be insulted if one of his clients didn't get a chance at a hog.

ruger mac,

Thats the kind of feedback I was looking for. Thanks. I think I'm gonna give it a go. I want to learn more about spot and stalk bow hunting. I'm like the young puppy trying to run with the big dogs!

Same here thats why i went with a group. I figure if i didn't take a pig i'd atleast come home with lots of knowledge, instead i came home with both!

I seen George at the show as well. I spoke to him about a October hunt again this year, he's all in. As it gets later in the year I will firm things up, will probably be the same deal as last year 10 guys at $400 ea.

Stay tuned........

Is there a price difference for archery hunts or is it the same for both rifle and bow.

Same price for rifle or bow. We are doing a hunt in October but we get a group rate, $400 from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon.

I spoke with George at the San Mateo show. He will work very hard to get you on a pig, and a super nice guy.

Mel are you planning a group hunt for this year? If so, let me know $400 for the whole weekend sounds good.

I am! I have already spoke to George about it. Not sure what dates exactly but it will be the begining of October, either the first weekend or second, I need to see what weekends I have off.

I know this time of the month may be difficult for those who drew some premium tags, but it's really good to get on the ranch when he first starts his hunt for the year.

For anyone who is thinking of hunting with guy can't go wrong He is by far the cheapest,i.e. no "trophy" fees and he works hard for his client and has some prime pig land. If you got the time call him up and make a reservation.

I never hunted with George but I went to two different High schools with him. he is a good dude. When we were juniors in HS, he brought in a fresh hog head for his Lord of the Flies book report. That was funny. Anyways, I haven't seen him in over ten years but he was always a real nice guy and from the sounds of it I am not the only one who thinks so.

I also have never hunted with George but I actually spoke with him yesterday on the phone.

What happened was that while I was googling around for a good Wild Boar guide yesterday I stumbled on a page written by this guy about George (IT?S TIME FOR WILD PIGS! HUNT THEM ON YOUR OWN, OR FULLY GUIDED WITH DOGS, BY BILL KARR/WON Staff W). I was impressed by what I read so I called George right away and spoke with him. He was really nice on the phone and we ended up talking for at least 10 minutes. I will be going on a hunt with him later on this spring for sure.

Anyways, so later on the evening I stumbled on this thread and it didn't hit me until almost towards the end that you guys were talking about the same george that I had spoken to earlier on, funny :)

It's great that you guys are saying the same high praise of George.

Please count me in on a group hunt if there is room for a newcomer.

Thanks!

I hunted with George last spring and had a great hunt. We did a guided hunt with the dogs which was a first for me. It was quite a rush.

HIGHLY recommend George and Wild Pig Hungting Guide Service.

It looks like the hunt will be the weekend of October 2nd & 3rd. I will post up the hunt as it gets closer. I have also spoke to George about a second hunt if there's a lot of interest but those dates don't work for some people. It will be probably Oct 30th and 31st.

Stay tuned.........
