Ok guys, I know it's still a few months out but never to early to get things started.

Dates are Oct 3rd & 4th, we will actually get there on Friday the 2nd at 11:00am and hunt till about noon on Sunday.
This is the very first weekend he has open for his season, so we will be the first ones hunting instead of the last. Should be much better odds.

Price - $400 for rifle or archery. Just like last time, archers will be in a different location

NOTE: If you have a quad, you can bring it for transportation to and from your hunting area. George does NOT let people just drive the ranch to see things without him being there. So, if you come back to your quad early, you have to call him on the radio and he will come pick you up and change spots if needed. NO leaving without him! The guys who were there on the last hunt already know this, this is for the new guys.

I told George we would set this up for 13 people in case we have cancellations.

If your in, copy and past the previous thread then add you name to your post.

Once you have added you name, email me or PM me with the following information and I'll reply with who to make the check for the $200 deposit to and mailing information.

Sancho, I don't plan on hunting with my bow but I'm going to take it.

For right now, we will hold off on sending out any deposits. Elkguys, I'll add you and your son to the list and then once we have a pretty much confirmed group well start taking the deposits. Once George get the deposits, he generally doesn't refund them if someone cancels unless it's for a really good reason and I don't want to hold up anyone's funds by keeping the deposits.

I really think this will be a great trip, I think the last time it was hunted was in May sometime. 4-5 months of no pressure should be pretty good.

Sounds good Mel. Hoping Sancho and The Roman Archer goes again. Maybe we can walk a good majority of the ranch again lol.

We missed prime time, all the time. Can you confirm with him whether we can be dropped of before daylight and pick up after dark? My two trips there, we were dropped off way after daylight and picked up way before dark.

Nice! I should start too, but I've been getting murdered with school and work lately.

After our last hunt, I did mention to George that leaving after day light was a big concern from all of us. I don't see a problem with it, we will just have to let him know what time we want to leave camp. The next time I speak with him, I'll let him know as well.

Mel let me know when you will start taking deposits. I'm a near 100% in this time, but my daughter's starting 1st grade and will need sufficient gear for her new school year. I should be able to make the trip and the deposit. I'm hoping!!!

Once the list has 10 confirmed, I'll start taking the deposits.

If we have a hard time getting the list filled, we can open it up to friends if needed.

We do need 10 to book this hunt. I know we still have a couple of months until the hunt.

Where's Backcountry at? I figured after his big hog last time he would jump in on this one.

George will probably be bringing out his dogs again, like last time.

If the thread starts heading south, I'll keep bumping it to the top.

Any idea if we'll be leaving camp before 5:30ish? I'd like to be out before then if possible.

Mel,
Does this guy George allow small game hunting like gray tree squirrels on his property? I would like to get his info and perhaps set up some type of lease for the year. If you have any info, please send it to my email addy at: miensean@gmail.com

Thanks
sean

WOW its been awhile since i have been on JHO, been doing a motorcycle restoration project for the last 2 months but i am ready to get back into my hunting mode.

Mel, I had a great time sharing our hog hunt on the famous Cooley Ranch this past Easter weekkend with everyone, would like to take a another crack at it this year agian but plan on doing a week of pl hunting at lake sonoma in november so i dont know if i can take all the time off from work for two hunts that are so close together, butt will see what i can do. 559hog i am in even better shape than the last hunt, i would climb the side of those mountian ranges on the property like a billy goat!

butt the Cooley Ranch is 20,000 outstanding and breathtaking acres hunt, i would recomended for anyone looking for a challenging hunt! have a great day everyone! ..................TRA

Just got back from vacation, I was hoping to see more interest in this hunt. I'll give it another week or so then open it up to friends and other boards, would like to keep it just JHO but need to get the 10, so if you know of anyone, lets get this thing rolling.

Mel-

Put me on the list. One question: After deposits have been received is the balance due on the date of the hunt or before? Also, I have a lifelong friend who is not a JHO member (yet) but a safe, experienced and ethical hunter and is also interested in the hunt. One final question: Are non-hunters (my father) allowed and if so at what price?

Thanks for putting this together.
