So here's the details, same rules as last year.

I need 10 people to confirm this hunt for $450, if we cant get 10 it will go to $500. We hunt from mid day Friday - Sunday 1:00pm. Dates are Friday October 9th to Sunday October 11th.

Camping on property and we get the entire ranch to ourselves. you CAN NOT bring quads. Transportation will be provided by George, his helpers and myself for those who wish to hunt with me, I can take three.

Hunt is weapon of choice, your decision.

Once this hunt is filled with 10 or more, I will be collecting hunters information and deposits of $225. Deposits are NON refundable once they have been sent to me, if you cancel its up to you and George to work something out for a future hunt, but will be at his regular price.

Something that kind of came up in past years, this hunt is for 1 hog at this price. If you wound a hog, that's your hog and every effort must be made to recover. Recovered or not, your hunt is done unless you want to pay for a second hog. So please be sure of your shots.

Secondly, this hunt is for BOARS ONLY!! If you shoot a sow it's in additional $100 fee.

We will cap this hunt at 13.

For those who don't know about this hunt. It takes place on 22,000 acres of private property that borders Lake Sonoma, just outside of Healdsburg. This is a semi guided hunt, spot and stalk. George will take you to places where he has seen the most sign, give some suggestions on how to hunt the area, then your on your own.

Ok, that caps the hunt. I'm holding all spots unti end of July, at which time all deposits need to be in. Any deposits not received by the end of the month, their spots become open to first come first severd.

So many years of hunting knowledge combined from the many veteran hunters and some of the best hunters in california. Id be happy to pay 450 just for a class with some of these guys let alone hunt with them.

You brought up a couple of good points. First, the experience and knowledge comment, I went on this hunt last year for that exact reason and was not disappointed. I'm new to the game my self so I didn't have much to share, but I sat back and soaked things up like a sponge. My hunt was over early but that seemed to work in my favor as I was able to focus on learning from others for remainder of trip. Secondly, while a date outside of deer season would work better for most of us, Mel has got this one right. It's the first available weekend of hunting after a period of no pressure. The hogs are abundant and worth the sacrifice of a weekend during another season. Can't wait for this years hunt to get here!

I think our first hunt was actually in March or April, 1 hog out of the bunch of 8 guys. George runs his hunts from October - May I think. We usually take the first weekend i'm off in October, we could try the last weekend in October next year and see if it draws more interest, providing we can't fill it for the early part of October. October is the best time, atleast I think it is. George texted me in February or March and said they were all over the hogs and said "who says October is the best time, lol"
