Your right, 3 out of 11 isn't great. But 4 others missed shots, so consider it as about a 65% shot opportunity. If all connected we would be at 7 out of 11. I do wish more hogs hit the ground, but can't really much for missed shots.

Bobbyz thanks , i wanted to thank mel for putting on this hunt it is always fun and for cooking all that food friday. i showed up late friday around 4 and met george at the gate we headed down to the ranch and talked for a while catching up on everything then he told me if i wanted to take a walk down the creek by camp that he always sees hogs i said sure he left i took a walk and sure enough i seen 4 hogs about 50 yards away and 10 yards on the other side of the fence i waited about 15 min to see if they would cross and didnt know if i really wanted to end my hunt 15 min in so i started to stalk them a little closer and pushed my luck and stepped on a branch and they got spooked and ran up the hill around 40 yards and kept eating i came back to camp and waited for eveyone.Sat morning headed out and adam went down to the creek mel went down to his spot and me and ken went down to buckeye lake we got to the other side of the mountain i seen the hogs bedding down last year we seen some hogs above the lake and wasnt sure if we stalked them they would go over the other side and told ken that if we got down there we would end up in the creek and that it is alittle hard to hunt down there cause you cant really see anything i personally like it up high and glassing to cover more area. i asked ken if he wanted to give it a shot i thought if we got up there and nothing that it was a good spot heading down that we can both hunt both cayons sides all the way down we dicided to give it a shot i gave ken my 357 and told him to head up first and he could get the first crack on them we took our time and we got up there and there was nothing it looked good i dont know if it was to early or what we seen those hogs still over on that hill and spoted another hog by him self on another ridge we dicided to go after the big group we got down to the lake and ken peeked around and seen them he wanted me to take a shot with him and i told him to go for it and to shot one next thing the hogs started to walk the creek and head in to the brush and ken shot and two other hogs came out of the brush and i took a standing shot some thing i never do and we both missed. sat evening me and ken got droped off on the top of a hill and goerge said it was a good try because it has not been hunted yet so we gave it a try and me and ken split up and i got a little lost down there was not paying attion to were i was and got to the bottom and didnt no were to go and wasnt sure if to wait for ken or what i walked left about 200 yards then the other way and didnt see ken it was getting dark and tought i needed to get to the top and could get a better view so i would no were i was when i got to the top i came over the side were we were to get picked up i spoted a hog and tryed to cut him off but no luck.sun morning headed out with adam and ken to the same area and adam stayed behind and me and ken headed up to the spot i asked ken if he wanted to split up so that way if we seen hogs we didnt have to worry about the other guy and could take a shot he said cool i headed down i spoted a hog at the same spot i seen one on sat evening i got down there and droped my gear and didnt see the hog anymore and stalked to the area i seen it and came over the hill and got a little closer so i could get a shot neiling down he turned sideways and took the shot and it dropped him he rolled down and i started to gut him and heard george on his way i met him and asked him to give me a hand on gutting it .i have a tough time doing it and he came over there and talked me step by step how to gut it and the easy way to do it. he helped me drag it out and took me back to camp.it as a great time up there and cant wait for next year.

3 out of 11 isn't great. But this is hunting right? The oppourtunity was there for about 75% of the group. Rich and I "ran into" about 6 hogs 30yrds in front of us, but we had the sun in our eye's and they were just to close for my scope and rifle. A nice new Ruger Scout rifle w/ a 1-3x scope would of been perfect.
