Wyoming is correct, that was one of my funnest hunts. Took a 13.5" goat and 22" 4x4 muley, fun trip. Got plans for Wyoming again this year, just not the same place.

Thanks,

...and future Mrs. backcountry makes 13.

All in favor of capping it at 13, say aye!

Backcountry,
Actually she's number 2 right under you. I agree, we are now closed for this hunt unless we have some cancelations. Paul Blanton's son is going to tag a long with him and the possibility of hunting, so It could be 13. Still plenty of room for all of us, this should be a good time.

When It gets closer well I'll post up directions to the visitors center for those who don't know where it's at.

See you all in April.

I have been speaking with rwlittle about this hunt, he was not sure if he could commit to this hunt or not because of a family situation. I just spoke to him and now I have added him to the hunt.

We are maxed on this hunt unless we get cancelations.

Thanks to everyone who has sent it their deposits so quickly, it makes things a lot easier.

Leave it to BC to bring a skirt to the "man weekend" of hog slaying and beer drinking :stir pot:

J/K FMBC is a great gal and will fit in nicely with all the yahoo's :toast-yellow:
I can't wait to read the stories from this hunt, I am sure it will be a blast. Is anyone gonna show up really early Friday and get a bow hunt in on Sonoma before meeting up at 11:30?? :idea-blue:

i might. being tired will help me sleep that first night out.

imagine scoring that morning? that would complicate things as far as meat management for the weekend.

i am shooting my bow pretty much everyday. in my backyard at 20 yards, and shooting for the horizon on the weekends. i am breaking my arrows in my yard.

this is going to be so much fun. wait until i post up some turkey pictures on that forum page. spring is going to be great!

Our first trip there several years back, I had two large pigs in the cooler on Friday night. We left the cooler in the running spring next to camp and we didn't leave until Sunday afternoon. Meat was fine.

My Dad sent out the deposit yesterday so it should be there tomorrow at the latest.
Looking forward to this hunt, and an early friday morning Hunt might be fun as well.

I've been doing the same thing too. Been shooting at 20 yards with field tips but haven't done it with the broadheads. I haven't broken an arrow yet, but I have lost one in my friends back yard. What's the ideal shot, as in range, we'll be taking at sonoma with a bow?
