The disease is USO and what they infected AZ with. If that comes to CA, we may never see an elk or sheep hunt. Hopefully our F&G folks will fight them if for nothing else to soak up the attorney fees from USO. Those low lifes sent me a brochure and wanted to guide me on my Oryx hunt. Cold day in hell

They must be getting desperate. I do not think this year's extra AZ hunts made up for their legal costs and lost sponsors. I could not imagine anyone hiring a guide on a hunt with as high of a success rate as oryx. I would guess the butchers and taxidermists would be the ones sending you ads. Good luck and have fun.

When USO, the outfitter not the organization supporting the troops, started the litigation at first glance I thought it was a good thing, but ponder both sides of the equation, and think about who will make out better by there being more out of state tags, regardless of price, definately not me.

They are a greedy SOB of a company, I will do business with locals in the area I hunt, or go it alone, but that is my opinion

regardless of price[/b]

Thats what it is going to do, eventually these BS law suits will drive the prices up so high that the average working class guys won't be able to afford to hunt, and the greedy rich will

I was part of the additional tags that were issued here in Arizona due to my brother ( NON-RESIDENT ) being on my application. I am afraid that our days of hunting together are coming to an end. My brother was more than willing to pay the $373.00 to have the chance to hunt here with me. Now the price will go up and he may not be able to afford it, thanks to USO

Will USO outfitters affect California?

I belive the answer is No and i say this because:

California doesn't have the strongest non resident hunt demand as other western states. USO is going to target big states like AZ NV MT and WY.

USO has lawsuits ready for MT and WY next, lets just hope MT and WY can hold their own. I live in WY and if start asking for donations I'll donate what I can to fight USO.

Maybe one day USO will attack CA but I do not see it happening at all because I think this monster is going to eat itself out of house and home.

One thing to consider, CA does have the most discriminatory elk policy towards nonresidents of any state. Nonresidents can not apply. Period. I thought the 10% cap was a bit stingy, but no chance? And I say that as a CA resident. We should change that to something reasonable, before we get sued. A free for all like the lawsuit did to AZ is not reasonable either, residents should get most (not all) of the tags.

where it will effect Califronia and other states is that some states have already started charging other states non residents, what that state charges it's residents to hunt there, in other words,

If Nevada charges non residents let's say 500.00 for a non res deer tag, then california would charge Nevada residents 500 for a california deer tag, that is where you get screwed.

They could. I am suprised that sheep and antelope were not in the AZ suit. The only thing that may prevent a suit in CA is that there are so few elk and sheep tags that it just is not worth the effort to sue. Plus, there are no nonresident limits on draw deer tags. But it is the only state to get a tule in, for those into getting one of each subspecies.
