Hi Guys,

I plan to hunt pig again soon. It has been too long and I am getting the itch.
Last time I hunted I used with great success the Winchester Supreme 160 GR. Fail Safe in my 7mm Remington.
For some reason I can no longer seem to find this ammo.
Were the Fail Safe’s replaced by the Winchester XP3 Supreme Elite?
Would you guys please recommend something similar/better that I can use for pig hunting?
Thanks in advance for any/all replies.

It's going depend on where your hunting, down where you live is "Lead Free" so fail safe's won't work. I don't know enough about the lead free bullets to say, but I have heard good things about the Barnes TSX and the Winchester E-tips (.30 cal only I believe on the Etips).

The Fail Safe has been replaced with the XP3, however, depending on where you're hunting, most of the southern and central pig territory is in the newly designated "Condor Zone", which means you can't use any lead ammo (Fail Safes, XP3, Accubonds, etc.). Need to look into some of the Federal Premiums loaded with Barnes TSX or Winchester Supremes loaded with ETips.

I pig hunted exclusively with the Winchester Fail Safe until Barnes came out with the Triple shock X-bullet,(TSX). The penetration and expansion is very similar. I used the 140gr fail safe and the 140gr TSX bullet in my 270WSM.
