Okay guys.... Have been doing a lot of thinking again and came up with another possible idea.
I know we already have a boat load of "Environment & Vanity Plates" here within our state as it is, as do many other states. Being the thinker that I am, would you support purchasing a plate that featured the CWA logo on it? (For those that are not CWA members, it would be the outline of the state of California, with a Sprig overlay on it.)
I have been thinking about writing some letters to see if I could get a bill introduced for the plate. The money raised via the extra "Fee" on the plate would be earmarked strictly for hunting habitat. I will be speaking with Bill Gains or Mark at COHA to see if this would be something worth while or not.
Now, here is where I need the help of my fellow sportsmen..... Within pratical reason, where would you like to see the money go if this was successful?
To CWA for designated youth programs, scholarships, research, land management at refuges or internships programs?
To the state Fish & Game for improvements at wildlife areas (refuges), state accessible areas that are used for hunting?
Again, this is only an idea for right now. The state currently allots 2% of money received from the "Whale Tail" (Coastal Commission) plate to go towards a natural resources fund in the DFG coffers, basically in the general fund.
