Well they're here. Frankenstein hogs. Would you shoot or eat a genetically altered hog? Eventually they'll get loose and those genes will spread to the ferals. MO is actually getting some hog populations on certain areas so a JHO hog hunt in a few years is coming. Paddy Creek Wilderness is one good area.

================================================

Two genetically altered piglets stand with a normal piglet (L) in this undated photograph taken at the University of Missouri-Columbia in Columbia, Missouri. US scientists said on March 26, 2006 that they had genetically engineered pigs that make beneficial fatty acids and may one day serve as a healthier source of pork chops or bacon. All of the fruit and vegetables we eat are already genetically altered, why not meat?

Some MAD Scientist somewhere, sometime in the future is going to genetically alter animals that will be too aggressive and will be DANGEROUS to anybody that comes near. THAT is a monster!!! Hey they have mad folks in World War II that tortured and experimented on people by injecting them with diseases and then watching them slowly succumb, claiming the agony and death was for medical science. The possibility is there. 'Nuff said.

Dang,

Explains why I wake up with needle marks every morning... and those guys in the white suits that keep telling me, "We're here to help you, son." ... well, I never trusted them in the first place, always whispering behind my back, writing stuff in their little notebooks...

HEY! I can see you behind that glass!

Oink.

Because it involves cross-species gene splicing; The gene spliced into the pig genes came from a worm.

This isn't the type of breeding that gave us hampshires or durocs, and yes it does make me uneasy.

Quit being silly now. I used to work in a lab that dealt with this all the time. I ran Immunohistochemical stains on tissue and run post harvest tissue typing to see if the tissue was compabitle. Remember we are less that 1% different from apes on a gentic level.

These days they are mixing human DNA into pigs to create a pig that is similar genetically to ourselves for transplant purposes. They have used pig heart valves for yearse now. Now we are able to take a patient with a failing valve and breed a special pig just for him...think 9 months fully gown..ready to harvest. Also, no longer needing life long antisuppresents for fear of immune system rejection. Its almost here, trials are in the works. Eat one...sure. Kinda messes with the old phrase " eat your heart out" huh!

Just cook it to 140 degrees and that will take care of all of the mutant stuff. Don't forget to use plenty of Woody's Bar-B-Q sauce that helps too.... and if need be mail me about 40-50 lbs and my friends and I will get back to you with our lab results................
