With a rifle you can at least steady it against a rest. I use a bipod attached to the front.

Bipods are priceless in my mind. My daughter dropped a deer in it's tracks at 300yds. She had very little practice but knowing the capability of the 308 she was shooting she knew all she had to do is put the cross hairs on the spot and "game over".

i bought a harris bipod when they first came out..when i shot my elk..it was trotting towards me (i was sounding like a hot and easy COW) 150 yards..it would have walked into my lap if i waited. but i was prone with my bipod. too easy.

this is going to be different, i think. personally, i am arrowing any legal elk. hehe.

my truck is loaded..i head out in the AM. my anxious brother is already in salt lake city..coming from el paso. he is like 7 hours ahead.

oh well, lack of communication.

wish me luck..i just need ANY elk within 40 yards..and i am letting it fly.
