Here is a picture of the bull my best friend justin got this year. We were hunting public land during the general season. It was crazy with the amount of hunters up there. So we hunted small patches of heavy timber where no one else would hunt. Using cow calls we can make with our mouth(just using our tounge and our hand, no commercial calls) we got this good bull in the thick timber. There were about 6 elk in the herd, and a calf elk responded to our call. Shot was close, about 15 yards.

Gotta love WY, can buy OTC tags for deer and elk and still have a chance at quality animals!

Thanks for the replies!

SDHUNTER,

I love them too :) I do not wear boots unless I have too, there wasn't much snow on the ground yet. As you can see too we don't wear camo either. Or use scentlock clothing. Or any of those other gimmicks.

Give us a few inches of snow and we'll gladly wear boots, but please give us a lot of snow lol(makes the hunting easier)

Hahhaha

He wasn't too far from a road. But we were not road hunting. We just walk in every day and we hunt places other hunters drive passed or walk past. In some places we have jumped elk that were bedded down so close to a road that goes through a thick pine forest that you could literally step out of the truck and walk a few feet and jump the elk if you knew they were there. We were some of the few hunters that saw elk every day we hunted. The weather wasn't the best, but you can't just blame weather or other hunters for not harvesting an animal.

Paul,

Nope that wasn't the desert unit, notice the tress HAHHAHA Just joking. We wouldn't even look at a bull like that in the unit by my house. We call those elk spikes around here lol.
