I might have an opportunity to go Elk hunting in Wyoming next year (2006). Has anyone gone there? How hard is it to get drawn for archery? Would it be worth going with just a bow since it is my first outing or should I consider using a rifle?

You have about a 30% chance on a general tag. The odds of drawing with the higher priced tag only increase your odds about 5-10%. You can hunt archery and with a rifle in the appropriate season.
