Hello everybody, let me 1st introduce myself. My names Bert and I consider myself a seasoned Hunter. I’ve hunted small games, upland game birds, Pigs, Bears, Deer and Elk. Been hunting for more than 30 yrs now, mostly hike in and backcountry big game hunting. I do apologize this is very last minute asking for help but a buddy of mine finally drew X6a after I believe 7 yrs and he asked me to join him on his hunt. Which I was honored and humbled that he trust in my hunting instincts and experience. Just wanna ask anybody that has drew and hunted this X6a zone to maybe just give me any location to start or pointers. I myself live in Southern California so I had no time to scout the zone with him due to my busy schedule and distance. Being that I live in Southern California I only have a short window of time to accompany him. This is why I humbly ask from all of you for any suggestions from this forum for help. So far he has scouted Keddie Ridge, Coyote Peak area and Kettle Peak, he told me there are deer but all that his seen are spikes and forkies. While scouting he met 2 other guys and they said the biggest Buck they’ve seen was a small 3x3 but nothing considered a trophy being that it’s a draw only zone. Any suggestions or pointers would greatly be appreciated. Thank you in advance

Look up the zone on the DFG website. The locations they list under zone info is pretty darn accurate for listing places that people regularly find bucks.
