YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. -- You're not supposed to take pictures of the wildlife from such a short distance away -- and this could be the reason why.
At Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, two people were injured after they were charged by a bull elk. The injured include a 60-year-old man from Texas who had taken a flash photo of the animal from less than 10 feet away.
Officials said the man walked up to the elk, took his picture, then turned his back and began to walk away. That's when the elk put his head down and charged the man, who turned around just in time to be gored by the antlers.
Later, a park worker was charged by the same animal and suffered bruises. Because the animal was a threat to safety, park managers tranquilized it and removed its antlers before letting it loose.
End article

Ya just gotta love the squareheads who ignore the signs and warnings not to approach the elk when they are rutting.
Why cut off the elk's antlers, he did nothing wrong? Maybe electroschocking the tourists who ignore the signs might, just MIGHT, wake them up.
