I can't complain, I found two sheds, and I'm pretty sure the bigger one is the match to the first one I found a while ago. I was somewhat dissapointed in how chewed up they both were, but it's better than nothing. I walked six miles yesterday according to my GPS, and searched another 8 from the 4-wheeler. I have one more spot I want to go, if the redents left any for me! The ticks were bad, but I saw a few deer, turkeys raccoons, and lots of squirrels!

Can anyone guess what the two "other" skulls are from?

Coyotebandit, that big one is a nice shed and I know how disappointing it is when a freaking squirrel beats you to a nice one like that. I'd say the one skull is a Yote but I'll be damned if I can figure the smaller "odd' looking one. By the way, exactly what kind of cover were the sheds in that they got gnawed so ? I'd say if you're still finding a shed or two, keep at it and maybe you'll score a nice slick one. Okay, what do you think the other two skulls are?

CONGRATS on the finds!! It does suck when the rodents get a hold of them first, but a shed's a shed.If I left all the chewed or old sheds lay that I find my shed count would really go down.lol

Nice Finds CB. If I were to guess on what you found, I'd have to say they are a coyote and a bobcat. I have the coyote skull at work, and my buddy had found a bobcat that looks just like that.

The skulls are of a coyote and a house cat. A medium bobcat skull here, is the size of your fist. That skull looks to be the size of a tennis ball, so it's more that likely a house cat.

Jonsey is right! I actually found this dead coyote last year, and put the skull into a tree to come back for it later. Well I found it this year on the ground, all the teeth were missing also.

There are lots of feral "barn" cats around living in the woods so I'm pretty sure that's what it is. I have never seen a bobcat around here, but I know they used to be around. I guess the coyotes have been pretty hard on them too.

Shag,

The two sheds I found on Friday were in very different habitat and cover. The smaller one was on the north side of a pretty good sized hill, on a trail about ten yards from the edge of the woods. The bigger one was in between the woods and a corn field sitting under a cedar tree, fairly in the open. That's why I was surprised it was chewed up so bad. Usually tree rats don't go out in the open because we have so many hawks.

Nice finds bandit. Had the cat skull right away, but I see others have figured it out. I found one this year too. Its in great shape and complete, but not nice and white like yours.
