My biggest pig was 350 pounds. But when I got her home from the nightclub, she looked a lot skinnier.

Don at Tejon estimated this sow at 190 and was probably being generous. When people that don't know better ask me what my biggest was I say 200 just because I like nice round numbers.

My biggest to date weighed 151 dressed on the scale. Depends on who you talk to some say dressed is about 3/4 of live. That puts him at around 200. Some say 2/3 of live weight, that's 226. I don't think he had 75 pounds of guts in him but I would say it was at least 40-50. I'll go with 200.

On the hook at the locker with no head, hide, guts and the legs all chopped at the elbow he was 101. That is pretty consistent with some of the other comments about meat locker weight being half of live weight.

Honest question... How do those big pigs taste? Or are they just for Trophy's and Sausage?
Personal Opinoin. Not MUCH different... but some yes.

Either way my brother me and my dad have taken atleast 5 pigs over 200. They all tasted great. Not too different from the littler pigs. The smaller ones are just so much softer and much more tender and juicier. If you take the big ones take the meat b4 you cook it and soak em in whatever liquid seasoning you like for a day or two then they are almost as tender and soft/juicy.

Like I said we've taken 5 over 200 and they tasted great.

378# live weight on the scale 4 plus inches of white showing. But I was with a freind who had land in the Sutter Buttes, when he shot a 675# floppy ear white and black hog with only 2 inches of white.
