I just purchased a pair of Zeiss 8x30 Diafun binoculars for my wife. They were $299 at http://www.actiongear.com
They also have a 10x30 for $349. These are really neat little binoculars. Very, very light. Crystal clear. Don't hurt my eyes (although I haven't used them as much as others). Waterproof. Fogproof. Limited Lifetime Warranty. They don't have the twisting eyepiece for those who wear glasses, but rather a folding rubber eyepiece. Not as neat as the twist one, but hey, it's $300. And did I mention how light it is?
