I have never been in d6 country. Is this a good zone for rifle season ?
Is there anything i should know before heading in ?
any insite would be helpful.

D6 is a brutal hunt zone. Too many tags and hunters. There are some guys that have drainages they hunt every year and do pretty good. These areas are top secret and few. DFG sent a biologist back packing into the zone for a week (he's a hunter too) to count deer. He saw one doe in a week! If you can spend a lot of time scouting away from rods and people you may do ok.

That's because there are few if any deer there until the winter snows push the deer herds out of Yosemite to lower elevations. And when that happens, then it is a deer bonanza.

Too bad that almost never happens during the season.
