2010 Hog Hunt Give Away For Cedar Canyon Ranch

I have hunted the ranches to both sides of Cedar Canyon Ranch. There are monster pigs over there, I would love to hunt there. I was hunting on Benz ranch and saw some guys hunting over on Cedar Canyon Ranch and I spotted a huge boar over the hill and went back and was pointing the boar out when they noticed the boar themselves. I don't think they saw me!!! Then I was done hunting for the day, I wanted to watch the hunt where something was going to actually get killed. I have been huning since I got out of high school, thats is not very long only a few years. I have worn out two pairs of boot trying to get a pig. The only time I have seen any pigs, I was hunting Deer on Cumings Ranch and I had my bow and could only hunt Deer that day. There was a group of 25 pigs and I had to watch them eat and couldn't do anything. I only cried a little, because I got a buck that trip. I would love to hunt Cedar Canyon Ranch.

I should win this hunt because i will feed the hungry with my kill. I promise you that if I win this hunt, I will give away all of the meat to Ted Nugent's charity, hunters for the hungry. And I gurantee you, that if I have a hog in my sights, he is going down. Bottom line, if I dont win this hunt, people will starve because you neglected to select me. You don't want that on your conscious do you??

I'd love to be able to win, but I'm getting married the week before and this is not what the girl would call an acceptable honeymoon, although I'd be fine with it. Pig was the game that got me started. Well, got me to start. Still haven't got one because of the cost of these hunts. Just out of college, looking for a real job, all I could afford was a Mosin that I bubba'd into a hunting rifle with a scope. Even found a place who will make non-lead 7.62X54R hunting rounds for me. Now if only I could save up for something like this. Damn the timing. Oh well. Good luck to all.

Like others have stated, I don't deserve to win this hunt, but it'd be great if I did. I really don't enter contests, but I thought this would be a neat experience. I live in Bakersfield and the word of mouth advertising I could spread could pay for the trip. Also, I'm a high school teacher who puts up with their fair share of bureaucratic "stuff" and attitudes from a large portion of my 120+ students each year. It'd be a great stress reliever. I could even save them money by sleeping at home. :hog chewing:

I should win because I am a girl and new at hunting AND I want to kill something with my super awesome bow. Also, I am a nurse and a mom of teenage boys so if I don't get a chance to kill something soon, neither my kids nor my patients will be safe. Need to let off some steam here and killin' a pig would be the perfect route.

I need to win this hunt for my boy! rayin : I finially got him to hunt after 10 years of trying and he's hooked! Unfortunatly he thinks every time he enters the woods he on the menu. When we were deer hunting at Lake Shasta last year he was stocked by three cougars. Then at dusk a 300 pound bear attacked him. He shot it in the head with a 450 Marlin when it was 15 feet away from him. Never saw a buck. He just wants to eat something that's not trying to eat him.:smiley_chain_gun_an :hog chewing:

Ok, I'll take a stab at this. I would like to win this hunt for one reason. I'd actually like to give it to my son. He's 23 and I've never had an opportunity to take him on a big game hunt. I was in a public service job and worked most weekends which caused me to miss a lot of things with my son that people with "regular" jobs get to do. Due to my work and his school schedules over the years I've taken him on quail and duck hunts but never a big game hunt. (Of course if I give this to him, I'm going to so they'll get one hunt fee anyway, LOL). Now that I've recently retired I'd like to get him out and really get him hooked on hunting again.

Just an update. The date is set, June 18-20 2010. I just talked to Bill and they have 6 hunters there who got all their hogs yesterday by 10am. One hunter got charged by a big boar but he's okay. Temps in the 50s with the wind howling his said. Bill also said they have a pit where we can put some meat for Saturday supper so we'll have some pork for the winner.

Deadline for contest will be May 15th.

Because that is the only way to win a contest, or if you are disabled or survived some tragic illness...

Wish i could win this though that dinner on Saturday sounds darn good.

I'd like to enter my dad. He took me hunting and fishing all the time when I was growing up and always let me have first crack. He made me the person I am today and always let me know how proud he was of me. I would like him to win because he is retired and can't afford a paid hunt and is one of the most deserving people I know. All his life he has helped anyone who asked. He's a great dad and I just want to show him how much he means to me.
