Hey Mickey all BS aside, if you enjoyed your hunt, then thats what most important. Good for you. Just as you said for a young or new hunter, I am sure the place is great.

As far as the 357 goes, I posted on your thread. I used a 357 for a long time. It was all I had. Hunting behind dogs it was an ok weapon. I have killed my fait share that way. I have also had my share of close calls, and dogs get hurt. Even had good boars put me on my butt. So I have since upgraded to a 44 mag.

When you are in the brush and face to face with hogs on a regular basis, you can not aford to take risks. A Russian strain will be much tougher than a hog that is closer to domestic. So it is my personal choice to carry a bigger bang. Something I can count on. With a larger caliber, I don't always have to worry about vitals, or a head shot to stop them in their tracks.

Congrats again on a fun experience.

Mikey1979 – Thanks for being so honest. Good luck with the 357. I handload 180 gr heat treated solids for my 357. I don’t hunt with it (it’s my “leave in the tent” gun). But I know it will do a # on a hog or deer at close range. If you like the Buffalo Bore ammo you should try “rolling your own”. Its worth it.

See any other animals running around besides hogs. That place is supposed to have all kinds of goats and sheep.

Yeah there was all kinds of goats and sheep but I wouldnt shoot anything but a pig unless you really like the tast of goats and sheep because only a complete jackass would mount something from a place like that. :rotflmao:

Thats pretty much what I've heard.

Still, if you ABSOLUTELY, POSTIVELY, need a Texas Dall on the wall, overnight....:pull-shades:

I can hear the story now. "There I was in the Serengeti..."

It's funny you say that because me and the guy I went hunting with were laughing so hard we had tears in are eyes on the way back talking about how funny it would be to shoot some exotic and take a picture with it and then superimpose a tibetan guide in the background and some snow.
