Two weeks ago today, I happened to bag this buck outside Laramie, Wyoming, @ a laser-verified 285 yards.

Hunting buddy J.J. Smithey (left) gave me a hearty handclasp after the surprising shot. I wasn't surprised, but the pronghorn was-- he took zero steps.

Nice buck. Muzzleloader as well. Thats impressive. Do you have a load/set up that will get out that far for elk?

It would be the same one-- 57.1 gr. N120, .458 300 gr. Barnes Original Spitzer Soft Point.

Nice one. I'm considering trying a Muzzleloader next year on the first day of our hunt, and if I'm not successful then got to the rifle on the second day.

Congratulations

Congrats on the nice buck. That's a helluva muzzleloader shot. I didn't know they would reach out that far. Kinda makes it like a small centerfire rifle. Ed F
