Everyone kills so much pork :(. My mom heard about my bad run at hunting hogs so she went out and bought one and had it killed and butchered just for me lol. It doesn't feel the same... I want the rush that comes with it, and I wanna be able to put an arrow through it. Oh well, at least there's good ham in the freezer now.

It's not really store bought. The hog was bought and slaughtered by my parents at the slaughter house.

Better ask Mr. Douglas if you can take Catherine Zeta for a ride while you are at it! I would imagine both involve the same response.

Hatchet I think you need to whack a white/black one in honor of your favorite musician Michael Jackson!

For effect take a glove and put on the critter once you get ready for the grip-n-grin.

Well hatchet,
Heres the deal, I know where there are some oinkers on public land. They are living in a deep rugged canyon. I even know where at least one is bedding down.
The problem is, there is a ton of growth at the bottom of the canyon. So even when they are on the move you would have to be aimming right at the spot they are going to be and have about a 1-2 sec shot window. Thats about all the time you would have them in the open before they are back in the thick stuff.
Twice I have gone up the canyon on foot and you just can't do it quietly enough to get at them. There is no need for them to head out of the canyon, as there is food, water and place's to sleep.
Its for the most part a box canyon and if they want to leave it they will for sure be in the open. Still working on a plan for these guys. I will get one somehow, someway!!!
Thought about sending a couple of guys up the canyon and have a couple more on the sides towords the end of it. But noone wants to head up the canyon while someone else is up there shooting ;) Dogs would make it easier, but noone down my way hunts pigs with dogs.
I'll keep ya posted and be sure to put up picks if I do end up with one of these suckers!!!!

Sounds like a plan. I've been trying to get up there and check it out and I've been wanting to shoot some yotes. To busy caught up doing honey do's around the house so I can hunt next week for the A-zone archery opener. Lets hook up in a couple of weeks for sure. I don't mind pushing from the bottom with my bow while your on top with the rifle. Team work my friend. Or I can bring the Bang stick and sling some lead.

I had good luck with the Nosler E-tip out of my 270 I shot my first hog behind the shoulder she went 30 feet and died and when i gutted her her lungs were mush. Then the next one all i had was a high shoulder shot and it dropped in it's tracks I hit the spine. The e -tips are very accurate in my Ruger mark II only if i hand load just right. 54 gr H4350 not sure of the fps .:pig-laughing:
