Advanced Hunter Education Upland Game Hunting Clinics Set in September

The Department of Fish and Game's Advanced Hunter Education Program, in partnership with Quail Unlimited and Wilderness Unlimited, is offering two upland game hunting clinics.
The first is scheduled for Sept. 22 at the High Desert Hunt Club in Gorman. The second is schedule for Sept. 29 at the Wilderness Unlimited property in Williams. Both will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and cost $40.
The clinics will offer instruction to beginning hunters. Topics will include information about hunting quail, chukar, and pheasant, hunting regulations, hunting lands, proper types of firearms and ammunition, proper clothing, habits and habitats of the birds, hunting alone versus hunting with others, hunting with or without a dog, dog demonstrations, field first-aid, hunter responsibilities and ethics, game care and cooking.
Interested hunters ages 10 and older may attend. Registration will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants will receive a packet of information approximately two weeks prior to the clinic which will include a map to the facility, an agenda, and a list of items to bring.
