This is true. I recently watched this in action. A battered, used, Marlin Model 60 .22 on consignment at a gun store. Price? $25. After a 10 day wait, this customer picked up the .22 rifle and:
One box of .22 shorts;
Two cases of 12 gauge shotgun shells;
Four 500 round boxes of 5.56;
One box (500 rds.) of 7.62;
One 250 rd. box of .45ACP practice ammo
She will only need to pay the $1 next time for ammo since she is now registered.
