I've had the pleasure of hunting Dan Brinlee's ranch in Texas (Whitetails) in November and was spoiled to say the least.

What I am seeking is something akin to that experience (ie; lodging, food, quartering/skinning, etc) for the same "bang for your buck" so to speak, if it exist. The cost was $2,500. per hunter and each hunter got 3 Whitetails and a turkey. It also included Havelina, if we ran into any.

Am I being unrealistic to find something similar in costs, quantity and services with either an antelope or elk hunt? I am seeing these types of hunts advertised with only 1 animal and no lodging or skinning services for practically the same costs as a whitetail hunt.

Any recommendations or comments are appreciated.

Antelope sure, no problem at that cost. Elk, no chance. You'd be looking at $4000K+. Either way, you will only be able to take one critter of a species.

Check out this place. It has what you need. I've never been there but the place gets rave reviews. www.spearheadranch.com

Like SDHNTR said, Antelope - no problem. Elk – you might be able to find a “packing” service to drop you off for $2500.

I’m not sure where you are from, but CA is having the Sportman’s Expo shows in the next couple of weeks. I would recommend attending one of the shows and talking to the guides. You’ll be able to find a great Antelope guide there.
